DAAS Scorecard

The Division of Aging consists of three offices - Adult Protective Services (APS), Public Guardian (OPG), and Older Americans Act Programs.  In all three cases, these offices work to ensure the health, safety, and independence of seniors and vulnerable adults.  Adult Protective services investigates abuse, neglect, and exploitation of individuals who are 65 and older, as well as individuals aged 18 and older who are considered vulnerable due to a disability.  Key partners include law enforcement, the Medicaid Fraud Unit, and the twelve Utah Area Agencies on Aging (AAA).  The Office of Public Guardian serves as guardians to individuals who are not able to make decisions on their own and who do not have a family member, relative, or private guardian who can appropriately serve in that capacity.  Key partnerships include the courts, multidisciplinary teams, and the private guardianship network.
