OPR plans and executes the following activities to prepare Utahns for public health and medical emergencies:

  • Oversees statewide public health and medical disaster planning
  • Distributes and oversees funds to local health departments, tribal nations, and healthcare partners for disaster planning
  • Operates and maintains the Utah Health Alert Network
  • Maintains and manages the DHHS emergency operations center
  • Collaborates with public health and healthcare partners
  • Coordinates distribution for the Strategic National Stockpile
